Korero HF Bold Chunky Display Font | Regular & Soft Styles

Description
Korero is a bold, display typeface built around thick strokes, tight letterforms, and a confident visual weight. The name draws from the Māori word for “to speak” or “to talk” — and visually, this font does exactly that: it speaks loudly and commands attention at any size.
The family ships in two styles:
Korero Regular carries sharp, squared-off terminals that give it an aggressive, unapologetic presence. Every letterform feels solid and architectural — like it was carved, not drawn. The high stroke weight with minimal internal spacing creates a dense, impactful texture that reads as powerful and direct. This is a font built for headlines, not body copy.
Korero Soft takes the same chunky skeleton but smooths and rounds every corner and terminal. The result is a version that retains all the visual mass and personality of Regular, but wraps it in a warmer, more approachable feeling. It’s expressive without being aggressive — playful without losing authority.
Because of their strong visual weight and personality, fonts in this style excel in contexts where character and impact matter more than readability at length:
Branding & Identity — Logos, wordmarks, and brand names where the font itself becomes part of the brand’s personality. Both styles work well here depending on tone: Regular for edgy/premium, Soft for friendly/youth-oriented.
Streetwear & Apparel — T-shirts, caps, hoodies, and merchandise where the typography needs to hold up as a graphic element on its own.
Gaming & Esports — Game titles, team names, UI headers, and tournament graphics where power and presence are essential.
Sports & Athletics — Jersey names, team branding, posters, and event collateral that need high visual energy.
Poster & Event Design — Concert posters, festival branding, movie titles, and promotional graphics where the type anchors the entire composition.
Food & Beverage Packaging — Labels, cans, and packaging that want to project bold character on a shelf. Soft works particularly well for craft/artisan products.
Children’s Media & Education — The Soft variant especially works well for kids’ books, apps, and characters where rounded forms feel safe and fun.
Social Media & Digital Content — Thumbnails, cover images, and graphic overlays where the font needs to pop at small sizes and short reading distances.
